This course will be useful to researchers who deal with visual imagery, as well as to anybody who wants to develop critical thinking skills necessary to approach modern ideologies broadcast via visual data.
The course focuses on the analysis of unintentionally created visual sources (sources that are collected by researchers, but not created by them) that fill our lives: billboards, newspaper and amateur photographs, etc.
The purpose of the course is to teach students to analyze visual data with the help of visual semiotics, sequential analysis (objective hermeneutics) and content analysis.
